Ian Burridge

 

Ian was born in Aberdare, South Wales before moving to Colchester, Essex at a young age. He attended Colchester Royal Grammar School and began playing croquet at Colchester Croquet Club in 1988.  Ian is predominantly an AC player and made his debut for Wales in the 1990 Home Internationals, has been an ever present in the event since and now captains the team. His best performance in the WCF AC World Championship came in 1995 when he reached the semi-final, a result which provided the springboard for his selection to the victorious GB MacRobertson Shield team in 1996.  In GC Ian is the reigning NZ Open Doubles Champion and was runner-up in the Welsh Championship last year.

Ian is the CA’s International Performance Director (AC) and now lives near Grantham and is a member of the Nottingham Croquet Club. His main interest outside croquet is playing chess.
